Abstract :

The paper attempts to highlight the announcement of the implementation of the Mandal Commission recommendations, the stand of the V.P.Singh,the then Prime Minister of India , the opposition from various quarters, modification done during the Prime Ministership of Narasimha Rao ,the recent Supreme Court's ruling over the implementation of 27% reservation in the Central Educational Institutions and in this regard the stand of the prominent Dravidian Parties in Tamil Nadu
