Abstract :

Education in all ages and all levels has always aimed to develop the complete individual. Complete in the sense that the individual is not self sufficient, he/she is also useful member of the society. In the educative process, there are number of influences that work on the individual, for example, the curriculum, the method, the educational activities and teachers. Of all the different factors, which influence the quality of education and its contribution to national development, the quality, competence and character of teachers are undoubtedly the most significant. Since the teacher is the backbone of the whole educational system, he should possess intellectual and traits conducive to successful teaching.
