Published By : Laxmi Book Publication Abstract : This paper describes for the first time that an anaerobic marine bacterium is capable of producing gold
nanoparticles. A marine purple non-sulphur bacterium was isolated from mangrove sediment and identified as
Rhodopseudomonas sp. . The bacterial culture was tested for the synthesis of gold nanoparticles by using aqueous
HAuCl4 solution as substrate in darkness. The gold nanoparticles synthesized were found to be of cubical structure
in the size range of 10–20 nm. Keywords : Article : Cite This Article : Abirami. G , Asmathunisha. N And Kathiresan. K., (2013).
