Abstract :

The scenario of educational progress in rural India began to change rapidly due to the new thrusts given by the Government's New National Policy of Education (1986) and the Programme of Action (1992), which aimed at improving access, reduction dropouts and improving learning achievement for all children between 6 -14 years of age. This study seeks to know the interest of the children towards the primary education in rural area, to make aware of parental education in rural area and to analyze the education system in rural area of Birbhum district of West Bengal.
