EFFECT OF 12 WEEKS PLYOMETRIC TRAININING ON PHYSICAL FITNESS PARAMETER LEG EXPLOSIVE POWER PERFORMANCE OF HIGH SCHOOOL BOYS

Abstract :

The purpose of the study was to determine the plyometric training program on leg explosive power performance of high school boys. Subjects were divided into two groups, namely plyometric training group and control group. The plyometric training group underwent a 12 week plyometric training program and the control group did not undergo any training program. All subjects were tested in Leg explosive strength (Standing broad jump) and long jump (Performance). The data were assessed (pre and post). The collected data was statistically analyzed by using analysis of co-variance ( ANACOVA ) The analysis of covariance conducted to analyze the changing scores (pre and post) in the independent variable by plyometric training group had quicker post test compared to the control . The results of the study showed that plyometric training can be an effective training programme to improve the performance.
