reports of hunger and starvation deaths from different parts of the country.Food are one
of the basic human needs and it is indispensable for survival of life. Food Security
describes a situation in which people don't live in hunger or fear of starvation.
Worldwide around 852 million men, women and children are chronically hunger due to
extreme poverty; while up to 2 billion people lack Food Security intermittently due to
varying degree of poverty. There is little consideration has been taken toward household
Food Security, the present study has been attempted to identify the Food Security at
household level in selected villages of Aligarh District.Inspite of an agriculturally
developed area, Aligarh has about 40 per cent of Food Insecure households are food
insecure, 53.12 per cent are Food secure and remaining 8 per cent of the sampled
households are suffering from severe hunger. Not only single indicator but all the
indicators i.e. food availability, food accessability,food stability and food utilization
