Volume : III, Issue : II, March - 2013 ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY IN TUBERS AND SEEDS OF GLORIOSA SUPERBA LINNMEGALA. S AND R. ELANGO Published By : Laxmi Book Publication Abstract : The antioxidant potential of methanol extracts in tubers and seeds of Gloriosa
superba L was studied. The antioxidant potential of different plant parts extracts were
investigated by using phosphomolybdenum antioxidant assay and free radical
scavenging assay (DPPH). Total antioxidant capacity 1.669 μg/g seeds extracts are
determined. The total phenol content was also determined and expressed by gallic acid
equivalent. The phenol content 0.975 mg/g tubers were produced. The carotenoids and
ascorbic acid content seeds are high amount produced. Keywords : Article : Cite This Article : MEGALA. S AND R. ELANGO, (2013). ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY IN TUBERS AND SEEDS OF GLORIOSA SUPERBA LINN.
