A Study Of Training Needs Of Elementary School Teachers In Jhunjhunu District Of Rajasthan

Abstract :

Elementary school teachers instruct children from grades 1-8 in age group of 6- 14 years. The Need of training for elementary and secondary teachers has been emphasized by many commissions and committees. The teacher occupies a very important place in society because he brings about the transfer of the intellectual tradition from one generation to the next. He maintains the level of technological skill and keeps the light of civilization burning bright. All teachers must hold both a bachelor's degree and a state teaching license to work in schools. The keys to determining training needs include: (a) Know your present situation, (b) Identify required competencies, (c) Involve employees, (d) Survey, discuss and analyze actual data, (e) Prepare specific employee development plans, and (f) Implement the plans. Many needs assessments namely context analysis user analysis, work analysis, content analysis, training suitability analysis and cost-benefit analysis are available for use in different employment contexts. Therefore, this study has conducted to know the training needs of elementary school teachers.
