Abstract :

The livestock sector of the country has a crucial role in the national economy. But generally, the Indian cattle are considered to be of poor quality, uneconomical and a burden on land. In this paper we have studied the quality and quantity of feed and fodder in the pasture which is available to Gujjars livestock. Gujjars are those who are rearing livestock from centuries in the Himalayan region. For them, pastures are the major feed resources for this type of activity.
