Today cooperatives have made rapid progress in developing countries and are
proving to be effective instruments in economic growth and for improving living standards
of the masses. Their activities have become increasingly significant for such
important sections of the populations as farmers, artisans, factory workers, salaried
employees, fishermen and consumers in general. In developed countries, even in these
fields, cooperative societies have assumed larger promotion and have expanded into
regional and national federations. Keywords : Article : Cite This Article : Dharmesh P Patel, (2012). Cooperative Sector and Economic Development. Indian Streams Research Journal, Vol. II, Issue.
