Use of Activity Based Joyful Learning Approach in Teaching Environmental Science Subject At Primary Level

Abstract :

Achievement of interdisciplinary competencies through the teaching of one discipline is a recurring challenge of present-day teaching –learning process. At the primary stage of our school Education, the subject environmental studies seems to be a suitable curricular medium, through the teaching of which the competencies of many other areas can be developed. The main focus of present study is to examine the effectiveness of activity-based joyful learning approach(ABJL) over traditional method of teaching (TMT) in achieving interdisciplinary minimum levels of learning (MLL) competencies (in the selected four areas of language,awareness to physical-social environment, health & hygiene , & art & craft) through the teaching of environmental studies. The entire study was divided into three main phases .
