SIDDHAGIRI MUSEUM OF KANERI

Abstract :

Kaneri is located at 10 Kms on the South of Kolhapur. The Village is known for its Lingayat Maths namely Shri. Kshetra Siddhagiri Math a prominent place of worship of lord Mahadevi. This scared place has a history of more than a thousand years. The oldest record dates to the 11th Century. It is the hotbed of spirituality and wisdom2. The word museum is derived from Greek word 'muses' meaning the Goddess who gives influential encouragement to silent inspiration and divine inspiration3. Muses is one of the Goddess of Greek myth3. The museums are divided into Rural museums and urban museums. The Siddhagiri Museum reminds us of past glorious rural life in India. The museum reveals how the villagers had mastered art of living in harmony with natured and community.
