cities like Chennai, Kolkatta, Mumbai and Delhi. Madras is the pioneering settlements
of British in India. It was the first city established by the East India Company and capital
of southern part of India. So that Madras may rightly to be called the Athens of India in
Modern time and Tamil nadu is called as 'The Greece of South East Asia'. It is the fourth
