fulfils its intended purpose or function. Whereas, the Cost
effectiveness is giving the most profit or advantage in
exchange for the amount of money that is spent.
Things are changing; increasing awareness that on
average, a manufacturing company spends 50 to 60 percent
of its revenues to buy materials and supplies has made
procurement function a promising area to hunt for facing
global competitiveness. This fact has been already realized
by some of the progressive companies in India and they have
