BACKGROUND AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF MID DAY MEAL SCHEME IN INDIA

Abstract :

The Mid Day Meal Scheme is the largest food and nutrition assistance programme feeding millions of children every day. This paper provides a review of the background information on the scheme in India earlier known as National Programme for Nutritional Support to Primary Education (NP-NSPE) including historical trends, achievements and components of the scheme.
