Abstract :

Amutual fund is professionally managed type of collective investment scheme that pools money from investors and invests their money in bonds, short term money market instruments and other securities. Mutual funds have a fund manager who invests the money on behalf of the investors by buying\selling stocks, bonds etc .Mutual fund serve as key financial intermediary . They pools investments by individual investors and use the funds to accommodate financing need of government and corporations in the primary market. They also frequently invest in secondary market. Due to tremendous growth of Mutual fund industry it has gained the interest of investors as well as researchers. The aim of this study is too see the trends in Indian Mutual Funds industry and also to see its growth path in the recent years.
