Abstract :

Empathy plays a crucial role in social interactions, and previous research suggests that different reading habits may influence its development. While fiction readers are believed to cultivate affective empathy through engagement with complex narratives and characters, non- fiction readers may develop cognitive empathy by encountering factual accounts of real-world issues.
