Abstract :

Post liberalisation, Indian banks are facing increased competition due to entry of new private sector banks resulting into declining net interest margins, therefore Banks & depository institutions are diversifying into new product areas over the past two decades, moving from traditional lending to areas that generate Non-fund-based income, this is also important from Financial stability point of view.
