Abstract :

Women are weaker gender in the society and as such, they are facing many problems in the society. The working women even though economically secure, are also prone to different types of health problems derived from both family and work places. As such, the present study is made to explore the health problems of working women in organized and unorganized sector. A sample survey of 120 working women in organized sector and 120 working women in unorganized sector was made to find out their health problems. Interview schedule was used to collect the primary data from the respondents. It was found that only a few of the respondents are not having any health problems and majority of the respondents are suffering from different types of health problems such as Gynecological problems, dental problems, mental tensions, worries, hypertension, etc. Comparatively, the working women in unorganized sector have more health problems. It is suggested to formulate the health related social welfare scheme for the working women in unorganized sector.
