Abstract :

The purpose of the present study was to comparison of explosive power and anaerobic power between residential and non- residential schools boys. To archive the purpose of the study eight hundred and forty schools boys were selected. They were further classified in two groups residential and non-residential from the various schools in Cuddalore Districts in Tamilnadu academic year of 2010-2012. The number of group for the study was delimited to three (Government, Government aided and privet schools boys) and the number of schools boys in each group was confined one hundred and forty. The schools boys were selected age of the ranged between 12 - 17 years. Explosive power and anaerobic power test was selected as dependent variables. Residential and Non- Residential (government, government aided and private schools boys) were as independent variables. Explosive power and anaerobic power was measured by standing broad jump and Margaria Kalaman Power Test. The collected data on selected criterion variables were statistically analyzed by using 2 õ 3 factorial ANOVA to find out the significant difference between residential and non residential (government, government aided and private schools boys). Whenever the interaction effect was found to be significant, the simple effect was applied as follow up test. In the entire test, 0.05 level of confidence was fixed to test the significance, which was consider as an appropriate. The results of study showed that there was a significance difference on explosive power and anaerobic power among nature of schools with residential and nonresidential status. The results of study showed that there was a significant difference on explosive power and anaerobic power between the residential status of schools of the government, government aided and private schools boys. The residential private schools boys have better explosive power and anaerobic power when compared to residential (government and government aided) and non residential (government, and government aided and private) schools boys.
