| At its recent monthly Board meeting, Barry Mulholland Chief Executive of the Western Education and Library Board (WELB) welcomed newly appointed Board Member Angela Dobbins to the Board.
Mr Mulholland said: “I am very pleased to welcome Councillor Dobbins to the Board. Her practice and expertise in corporate governance and knowledge and experience of the education service gained through her work as a councillor, chairperson and council representative will contribute a great deal to the skills base of Board members at the Western Board.”
Angela Dobbins has been a Councillor on Derry City Council since May 2011. She has also been appointed as chairperson of the Culmore Residents Association and is currently the Council representative on the Galliagh Community Development Group. She serves as a school governor of Hollybush Primary School, giving her knowledge and experience of the delivery of educational services. As well as this, she has declared that she has undertaken political activity during the last five years on behalf of the Social Democratic Labour Party.
Cllr Dobbins, said: “I am proud to serve on the WELB for my community and will strive, with my fellow Board Members, to continue to focus on the provision of high quality teaching and educational services for all our young people; improving the learning experience for the next generation.” |
