| VADODARA: The Maharaja Sayajirao University's syndicate meeting on Friday will look into key appointments in various departments of the university. It is expected to clear the appointments of the heads of 12 departments in the university.
The syndicate meeting has on its agenda the appointment of heads for the departments of mathematics, botany, zoology, biochemistry, Gujarati, traditional Sanskrit, metallurgy, chemical engineering, architecture, civil engineering, computer science and management studies. The appointments usually see hectic lobbying and it would be interesting to see if the university top brass bows down to lobbying by the influential group that calls the shots in the university or goes by merits and seniority.
The meeting will also take up selection committee recommendations for the appointment of assistant professor, associate professor and professor in the fine arts faculty and the BCA Programme. It will also take up the appointment of systems manager and additional and deputy engineer in the university office.
The meeting will also discuss revised norms for Academic Performance Indicators (API) for the teachers of the Faculty of Performing Arts. |
