Independent Sector has announced the selection of VICTOR REINOSO as its chief operating officer. Currently the founder of Hopscotch Ventures, which invests in early-stage education technology companies, and a senior advisor at Bellwether Education Partners, Reinoso served as a deputy mayor under Washington, D.C., Mayor Adrian Fenty from 2007 to 2011, in which role he was responsible for the district's education agencies and a more than $1 billion operating budget. The Saint Luke's Foundation of Cleveland has announced the appointment of ELIZABETH HONOLD as finance director. Honold, who comes to the foundation from the Cleveland Foundation, where she was manager of investments and finance responsible for the day-to-day oversight and administration of the foundation's $2 billion investment portfolio, will oversee the development and implementation of financial accounting and investment procedures that support the mission and vision established by the Saint Luke Foundation board. The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation has announced JEFF GOODWIN as a new pasture and range consultant in its Agricultural Division. In that role, Goodwin will assist agricultural producers and land stewards in attaining their quality-of-life and stewardship goals by educating and advising them on sustainable, research-proven practices. A native of northeast Texas, Goodwin received his bachelor's degree in range and ranch management and his master's degree in agriculture with a concentration on range animal science from Tarleton State University. The California Endowment has announced the appointment of S. KARTHICK RAMAKRISHNAN to its board. A professor and associate dean of the School of Public Policy at the University of California-Riverside, Ramakrishnan previously served as a research fellow at the Public Policy Institute of California in San Francisco (2002-05) and is an organizer for the Politics of Race, Immigration, and Ethnicity Colloquium (PRIEC), a national conference series for scholars working on issues of race, immigration, and ethnicity. The Council of New Jersey Grantmakers and the City of Newark have announced the appointment of KEVIN CALLAGHAN as the council's new Philanthropic Liaison to the City of Newark. In that role, Callaghan will lead the Office of the Newark Philanthropic Liaison (ONPL) as it convenes, connects, and leverages the resources of the state, regional, and national philanthropic community for the benefit of Newark's citizens and institutions. A nonpartisan position, the ONPL is funded by a consortium of grantmakers, including Bank of America, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, the Nicholson Foundation, the Prudential Foundation, the Schumann Fund for New Jersey, the Turrell Fund, and the Victoria Foundation. Fidelity Charitable has announced the appointment of PAMELA NORLEY as president, effective September 6. Norley has held a number of senior leadership roles at Fidelity, most recently as executive vice president of enterprise relationships and talent groups for Fidelity Investments, in which role she was responsible for managing Fidelity's top institutional client relationships and for leading the talent management and recruiting organizations. Norley also serves as a co-chair of Fidelity's Community Committee for Corporate Citizenship. She will succeed AMY DANFORTH, who is stepping down after two and a half years as president for personal reasons. In other news, Resource Generation, a national nonprofit that works to organize young people with wealth and class privilege in the U.S. to become transformative leaders working toward the equitable distribution of wealth, land and power, has announced that JESSIE SPECTOR, its executive director, will be stepping down on January 31. As a member of the RG staff for eight years, four as ED, Spector helped the organization raise its profile, establish formal chapters, develop the Praxis Group model, and take on public-facing campaign work. She was also part of the team that led RG's efforts to create a membership structure, stabilize its finances, and establish organizational policy aligned with its social justice values. The organization will be conducting a search for its next executive director and plans to publish an official job announcement and more details about the search process in the coming weeks.
