Wales’ biggest business organisation has appointed a new figure to head up its Cardiff office. Ben Cottam has taken up the role of head of external Affairs for Wales for FSB. In his new role he will lead FSB Wales’ policy and public affairs team in its campaigning on behalf of the organisation’s 10,000-plus members. He previously headed-up accountancy body ACCA Wales, and replaces Iestyn Davies in the head of external Affairs role. The move marks a return to FSB for Mr Cottam, who served as FSB’s policy manager for Wales earlier in his career. Mr Cottam said: “I think that all who know FSB understand the important work it does in standing up for the interests of the SME community in Wales. “FSB has had a strong voice for all those that it represents, and I intend to maintain that strong voice for our members in the months and years ahead. “It is particularly important that the voice of the small business sector is heard loud and clear by policymakers as we head into the elections to the National Assembly in May. Its membership is made up of small business-owners from across Wales.
