| ’ve written about startups that use artificial intelligence to schedule appointments before and now we have another amazing startup looking make life (or at least our appointments) a bit easier for all of us.
Aptly named Genee, this startup is hoping to make setting those appointments as easy as possible utilizing natural language processing and working flexibly with every email service and calendar system. Genee was co-founded by two friends at VMWare, Charles Lee and Ben Cheung who at the time were having their own issues with setting up times and places to catch up.
Genee can be utilized across a variety of services such as e-mail, text, apps (iOS), and you can even schedule via Twitter. For example, if you wanted to shoot a friend a quick e-mail about scheduling some time for beers all you’d have to do is CC Genee and that’s it! Texting is much the same, except with a provided number.
The web interface for Genee is perhaps the greatest and simplest aspect of Genee, as listing times and pertinent information are presented in a clean and unobtrusive layout. After requesting Genee, schedule an appointment and you will also get a follow up e-mail with a link to view the information within the web interface.
Genee utilizes Google, Outlook and iCloud calendars, where it will list any appointments you may have made or requested Genee to make. Rescheduling is handled as well. The Genee app makes this even easier with a one-click button to handle those last minute issues that may arise.
Founders Ben and Charles recently raised almost $1.5M in a seed round from UJ Ventures, Streamline Ventures, and others while launching into their public beta in August. They have also recently announced a new shareable meeting link feature where you can set a time, place, and generate a special URL that you can send out with all the details already specified by you – and a nice little note as well. |
