| The standoff between IITs and the University Grants Commission (UGC) is now set to reach the IIT Council, the highest decision-making body of the 16 elite engineering schools headed by the Union HRD minister.
Miffed with the higher education regulator for its attempt to regulate their course structures, IITs had proposed that the matter should be taken up by the Council of which the UGC Chairman is also a member. |
