Abstract :

Biological control mainly consists of using microorganisms to control harmful microorganisms causing plant disease without disturbing the ecological balance. Weindling (1932) suggested potential use of Trichodermaspp, as a biocontrol agent against the soil borne plant pathogens like Rhizoctoniasolani. The biological control of root diseases of crop plants by introduction of antagonistic microorganism has been suggested as an environmentally safer alternative to the use of fungi toxic chemicals (Baker and Cook, 1974)
