Abstract :

The Manmohan Singh Doctrine is a manifestation of India's economic resurgence in an era of greater economic openness. The success of India's external liberalization and the reintegration of the Indian economy into the growth processes of East and Southeast Asian economies have played a vital role in the popular acceptance of the validity of the many postulates of this doctrine. For this reason, the continued relevance of the doctrine will be contingent upon India's continued pursuit of high economic growth within the framework of an open and increasingly globalize economy .
