Abstract :

There is an emergence of the syndrome of decay in The City and the River as the worst sufferers of the Grand Master’s exercise of absolute power are the instruments of the power itself, which along with the masses, lose their own identity and suffer the worst kind of alienation, that is, alienation from their own selves.
