Abstract :

Flood is a natural phenomenon in response to heavy rainfall but it becomes a hazard when it inflicts loss to the lives and properties of the people (K.Siddharth 2001). Flood is a relatively high flow which overtakes the natural channel provided for the run off. (Chaw, 1956). Flood is most common disaster occurred in all over the world. Many countries faces flood in the world. History of flood is discussed in this paper.
