Reasons Of Popularity Of Soyabean Crop In Nagpur District

Abstract :

In the Nagpur district Kharif and rabbi are agriculture seasons. Kharif season is depending upon monsoon rain and rabbi upon irrigation facility.In Nagpur district 72% agriculture land is non-irrigated. Due to the lack of irrigation facilities farmers prefer to takes short term crops. Soyabeanis an only one of the main crop which is a short duration crop.Soyabean crop is very suitable for non-irrigated agricultural land. Soyabean crop can be taken only on monsoon rain without any other irrigation facility. Due to short duration of soyabean crop, another crop can be taken in the same land. Apart from this there are some other specialty in soyabean crop like less irrigation requirement, short duration, double crop on same land, better productivity, cash crop, easy to sale, easy to stock, low cost of maintenance etc. which makes soyabean more popular.
